It’s Week 13 in the NFL and race is still the leading topic of conversation. The big story is the 100 million dollar proposal the NFL has offered to the players in an effort to stop anthem protesting. One of the biggest protestors, Malcolm Jenkins, has already stated that he will stop protesting and he hopes other NFL players will too.
Now to the picks.
Minnesota Vikings vs Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons have been flying high these past few weeks. They’re currently on a three game win streak and it couldn’t come at a better time as they look to secure a wildcard spot. The Falcons are hot but the Vikings are even hotter. They are currently riding their own seven game win streak, but it will come to an end tonight. The Falcons are the more desperate team right now and they’ll play like it.
27-17 Falcons
New York Giants vs Oakland Raiders
It’s crazy to think we still say things like this in 2017, but today the New York Giants will start their first black quarterback in franchise history. Yes it’s a historic moment, but also one that shouldn’t have happened.. yet. Eli Manning should still be starting but the position was given to Geno Smith and this Sunday it’ll look like the coaches made the right choice. Geno Smith will have himself a game, one good enough to secure the starting spot for the rest of the season and more importantly, the Giants’ third win.
13-10 Giants
Philadelphia Eagles vs Seattle Seahawks
I say this every week and the Eagles continually prove me right. They are the best team in the NFL. They have the best offense in the league and nobody has been able to slow them down. The one team that has or had all the tools to beat them is their opponent this week, but Seattle, particularly the Legion Of Boom, are battered up. The Seahawks are missing Sherman and Chancellor and they will be missed even more as Carson Wentz tears up what’s left of their secondary.
35-17 Eagles
Game Of The Week: Carolina Panthers vs New Orleans Saints
Division rivalries always produce the best games and this one will be no different. Both of these teams currently sit at 8-3 tied for first in the NFC South. This game has huge implications because the winner will first and foremost be a game ahead in the division and secondly the winner will own the tie breaker, which can possibly dictate who gets a first round bye. This game will be a shootout and look for Carolina to jump out in front early. Drew Brees will find a way to bring the Saints back and even give them a lead late in the fourth. But they call Cam Newton Superman for a reason. He will engineer a game winning drive like we see Clutch Cam do so often.
28-27 Panthers
