The decade has started and it’s time to introduce you to a couple of artists that should be on your radar. From fire spitters like Maliibu Mitch to angelic harmonies by Sabrina Claudio, these are a couple of my favorite artists.
5. Malibu Mitch
Bronx rapper, Maliibu Miitch has been shaping the culture consistently dropping hits over the last couple of years. From ‘Gwapamole’ to ‘Give Her Some Money’ Maliibu has shown us time and time again why she is the next big rapper to come out of the Bronx. She will be kicking off the year with a Tour that will span over nine days in February. Starting in Los Angeles and wrapping up in DC.
4. NAO
Across the shores in the UK is home to Grammy-nominated artist Nao. ‘Saturn’ her sophomore album has brought Nao to a larger audience, academy recognition and a lane of her own! NAO is able to blend her voice with the instruments in her songs and take you on a journey you weren’t expecting. NAO is currently working on her third studio album and hopefully, it’ll be out this year!
3. Patricia Jasmin
Queens native singer, Patricia Jasmin recently dropped her EP “Taking It Seriously” and is working on shooting videos for the upcoming singles. My favorite track is “Only One” which coincidentally happens to be a remake of one of my favorite Drake tracks, “Dreams Money Can Buy”. Her voice is extremely soothing and she’s definitely an artist to watch in 2020.
2. Mereba
I stumbled upon Mereba’s music one day and I’ve loved her ever since. “Heatwave” a track that features 6LACK is the song that made me decide to dig deeper into who Mereba was. Her content, her flow, and her singing are A1! Mereba exudes black girl magic as an artist overall and she has great content that should be on your radar.
1.Sabrina Claudio
Many know her for her “problematic” tweets but she has apologized ever since. Her talent speaks for itself, blending her voice and breath into her music has aided Sabrina in so many ways. Her music is therapeutic and the content is real! “Holding the Gun” makes me smile after each listen just from how beautiful it was put together. “Wanna Know” is on my wedding playlist and I haven’t even been proposed to. Add her to your radar, now!
