Imagine your two favorite rappers battling on the MIC and lyrically throwing shots at each other through their music in a boxing ring. That’s what fans received from Joey Bada$$ and Denzel Curry when they attended Red Bull’s Zeltron World Wide on Nov. 3.
The New York and Florida natives each performed a few of their songs for the event as they tried to top the other’s set in five rounds. According to HipHopDX, the battle began with actual wrestlers who had a match in the ring before the rappers took the ring. To start off the show, Joey Bada$$ took the microphone to perform “Paper Trials” off his album B4.Da.$$ then Curry snapped back with “Ricky.”
The two rappers took the moment back to the good old rap battling where each rapper could throw a little shade and joke around knowing it’s all good at the end of it. According to HipHopDX, Curry had the audience going against Bada$$ with a chant, but that didn’t stop them there.
The Pro Era rapper had some special guests to help him out such as WWE’s R-Truth and ATL’s Pastor Troy. Curry also brought out ATL’s Kenny Mason to the stage in which he performed.
Before the night ended Bada$$ told fans that there will be music from him and Xxxtentation coming out soon. He also paid tribute to his late friend and fellow Pro Era member, Capital STEEZ. Curry, on the other hand, ended the night with “Ultimate” and according to HipHopDX, it turned into a mosh pit.
The event is expected to continue in 2020 which Red Bull announced that it would make stops in Miami, Oakland, and New York. Make sure to look out for the next show in a city near you, it seems like it’s something you don’t want to miss out on.
