North Carolina rapper, DaBaby has been recently taking his moment in the spotlight with many features with artists such as J. Cole and Dreamville, Megan Thee Stallion and Lizzo.
DaBaby’s fourth album, KIRK, dropped a little earlier than the expected Friday date, but who’s complaining?
Some of the features include Kevin Gates, Chance The Rapper, Gucci Mane, Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby, and Migos to name a few. The title of his album reflects on his last name “Kirk,” dedicated to his father. He’s embracing his last name while holding it down for his family and we get a hint of that in his latest single, “Intro.”
“Intro” was released last week and it gives us the head-bobbing beats with a fast paste flow that is hard to not enjoy. In “Intro,” he raps about personal family moments, such as his father’s death to the feeling of seeing his daughter after that and wanting more for her. He also touches on the struggles he went through before making it big.
It seems like “Intro” is the perfect start to the album since it seems like KIRK will be based on his life and family.
It’s been a great year for DaBaby as he was featured on the 2019 XXL Freshman Magazine, which highlighted just the start of his rap career. In an interview with L.A. Leakers, DaBaby mentioned that he’s had a blessed year with sold-out shows and that he’s coming into the rap game with everything he has. Check it out below.
