It’s been a while since fans have heard from Kanye West, but it seems like the star was making moves in silence, as he surprised fans with a 10-year deal with Gap and many releases.
On June 26, West took to social media to announce the big news that would connect Yeezy and Gap’s partnership, that brought out his #WestDayEver. The announcement included a photo of the newly designed logo that featured Gap’s original blue square with “YZY” written over it, which the partnership will be called Yeezy Gap.

According to The New York Times, the partnership will highlight affordable prices for customers and include basic and modern clothing. It is also expected to give Kanye the freedom to make decisions on how it is being promoted online and in the stores. The article also mentioned that West’s deal will begin this month and is given an option for renewal in five years.
After the big announcement, Kanye tweeted some creative ideas and projects that will also be releasing soon. The list included a cartoon animation with Kid Cudi for their Kids See Ghost, Jesus Is King film on Apple, a Dr. Dre version of Jesus Is King, Foam Runners release from his Yeezy collection, and more.

The Yeezy Gap partnership has been on West’s to-do list since 2015 when he expressed in an interview that he was interested in working aside the company produce clothing. He’s also shared that he worked at Gap as a teen.
