Just recently, Janelle Monae joined the cast of the forthcoming Harriet Tubman biopic, simply called Harriet.
British actress and singer Cynthia Erivo (as Tubman), and Leslie Odom Jr. of Hamilton will star in this film that tells of the freedom fighter’s life and tribulations, which is already one of the most sought-after releases of next year.
In addition, Erivo stated how thrilled she was that Monae was joining the cast on Twitter followed by Monae exuding her own excitement.
“Proud to have my sister with me on this journey with me,” she wrote. “Love you @JanelleMonae.”
And I love you @CynthiaEriVo . It’s an honor to help tell this story w/ you & all involved . #Harriet 👊🏽🙏🏽🙌🏾 https://t.co/MQnnRJ6a2I

As a Grammy-nominated singer, Monae enter the public I threw her quirky and enigmatic talent, but she’s been able to prove herself in films such as moonlight and hidden figures.
Information on the role Monae will be playing in the film has not been shared, but given her musical and acting abilities thus far, her performance will most likely be out of this world.
Harriet’s release date hasn’t been announced, yet we can’t wait for this remarkable story to hit theaters.
