It’s no secret that Michael Jackson is one of the GREATEST entertainers ever! Even after his death his music is continuously played and sampled in others music. Michael Jackson was a child star who grew up to be a phenomenal music star.
In honor of Michaels birthday which is August 29th, I’ve decided to go through his music collection and select 5 songs that have made an impact on music.
1. Human Nature
Human Nature was on Michael’s Thriller album which released on November 30, 1982. Many say this is one of Michael’s best songs, its super soothing and flows beautifully. Chris Brown sampled Human Nature in his song “She Ain’t You”, and SWV also sampled Michaels song in “Right Here” (Human Nature Remix).
2. Liberian Girl
Liberian Girl came from Michael’s Bad album which also had many other hits as well. I picked Liberian Girl because the beat gives a Mediterranean feel to it and makes me feel like he is incorporating instruments from different cultures around the world. And also ,if you haven’t seen the video to this song, do yourself a favor and watch it, Michael features so many stars in this video you can feel the talent radiating in the video.
3. Rock With You
Rock With You was the debut single from the Off The Wall album in November 3, 1979. This song gave fans a soul feel with a techno vibe as well. The album went on to sell more than 20 million copies worldwide.
4. I Can’t Help It
This song also came from Michaels 5th studio album Off The Wall. This song flows so smoothly, you can listen to it over and over. Michael really showcased his vocals on this song, his vocal range is impeccable. It gives a Jazz and RnB feel. Make sure you give it a listen.
5. Do You Remember The Time
Last but not least Do You Remember The Time!!! This song is amazing, so upbeat and catchy! And the video is like a mini movie. Michael shows in every song that he can switch it up, and he really showed that in this song. It’s so up tempo you can’t help but bob your head and snap your fingers to it.
