On June 9th in London , England, British fashion designer, Liam Hodges, unveiled his Summer/Spring 2018 collection wisely titled, Unveiled Tomorrows.
For those that don’t know much about Liam Hodges, he is a designer that promotes “an expressive, polysyllabic masculinity” in his heavily influenced hip-hop, UK streetwear, and post-punk men’s sportswear/workwear collections.
Liam’s SS18 collection is specifically designed for “the guy that needs a workflex, not just a track suit.” Liam believes in the philosophy of designing what you’ll rather wear when you’re older rather than what is hot right now and it shows in his Unveiled Tomorrows collections.
The Unveiled Tomorrows collection also incorporates elements of the past with the inclusion of popular 90s street-wear Italian brand, FILA. Liam utilises FILA’s distinctive colour blocking aesthetic, including a take on his very own trademark jerseys. Also featured in the collection are FILA’s ‘Original Fitness’ sneaker, a style that has been with the brand since 1987 that has been reimagined with a “mad texture” and Liam Hodges and FILA dual branding. Liam credits FILA’s first creative director, Pierluigi Rolano, for the inspiration behind this collection.
Liam’s SS18 collection keeps the integrity and importance of being open to new ways of “mashing it up!”. Refining the designer as a staple in the LFWM schedule.
