Ladies, aren’t we all guilty of running into Sephora for one thing, only to wind up spending almost 30 minutes to one hour in the beauty haven, cashing out on a bunch of new products while snagging a couple samples to go? Sephora literally carries EVERYTHING, from makeup, body, fragrances, skin, nail, and hair care, created by hundreds of different brands.
So I’m pretty sure you understand why Nancy Twine was geeked when Sephora offered her the opportunity to launch her haircare line, Briogeo, with its corporation. She even gained a self renowned title; youngest African American to ever launch a line at Sephora. Her line entails environment friendly, plant-powered products, stemming inspiration from her grandmother, who always whipped up homemade hair and beauty products. Although, her products don’t contain her family’s own recipes, as she came across many new ingredients during product development that they didn’t have access to growing up, and she was eager to make Briogeo a high level of performing natural products for the next generation.
“It’s incredibly exciting and I hope that it can inspire other women of color who are looking to pursue similar ventures,” Twine said in an interview with The Every Girl. “Sephora has been an incredible retail partner and I’m so proud to see Briogeo making its mark in Sephora doors across the nation. I hope to inspire women who are looking to make daring career changes or who simply have an idea that they want to put into action, to pursue their dreams. Creating a product isn’t rocket science, but it does take a ton of perseverance, dedication, and focus. If you have those three things, anything is possible.”
Nancy Twine is out here making boss moves, shedding great inspiration upon what it means to be a successful entrepreneur. You can even catch her in one of the busiest subways in Brooklyn. We see you girl. Keep doing your thing. #girlboss
